A dear friend of mine is, somewhat healthily, obsessed with ducks. For her graduation party, I painted a Renaissance Duck. Mimicking the style of traditional portraits of fruit, the combined serious tone of the background, with a bright-eyed rubber ducky as the center, only added to a beautiful sense of absurdity.
